ADVISING AND SUPPORTING
I have facilitated and resolve problems that have happened on the floor of the weight room during training sessions. An example of this would be having the ability to instruct and coach a 50-man baseball team with having one extra coach on the floor. Having a 2-man crew for 50 athletes can be hectic. So, having control and having an understand of the needs assessment allows for a smother training session. I have conducted needs assessments for specific sports groups and the desired results for the sports coach. A needs assessment is the strength and sports coach’s way to prioritize the overall needs of the sports team.
I will use more coaching cues during the sessions to allow for easier learning and adaptability to allow for greater development in multi-joint exercises. Each semester, I will sit down with each sport coach and figure out what were the desired area of improvement from the past season while implementing more of the areas that were successful.
ARTIFACT: BASEBALL TRAINING PROGRAM
The training program shows learning and adaptable ways to develop multi-joint exercises. Each week has a different variation of lifts that allow for the athlete to be the best they could be. With each variation, the athlete slowly progresses throughout the 10 weeks to increase their metabolic demand making them fitter and stronger. Throughout the entirety of the program, as a coach I will be advising and supporting the athletes through the program by using correct lifting technique, proper form, and motivation to finish.
