LEADERSHIP
I have implemented and identified basic-fundamentals of teamwork and teambuilding. Team sports is derived on the basic framework of teamwork and execution. Without this framework, the team culture cannot survive. This framework allows coaches to serve as role models and mentors for the student-athlete.
I will continue to identify new ways to implement teamwork and teambuilding exercises into training sessions to reinforce positive or negative feedback for the student athletes. Also, leadership isn’t about power and authority, but the willingness to guide and lead from the front. This attribute is a fundamental of teamwork and teambuilding.
ARTIFACT: FOOTBALL TRAINING PROGRAM
This 8-week football off-season program indicates leadership through basic-fundamentals of teamwork and teambuilding. Throughout each training session, the athletes are being broken into lifting teams and relying on each other for support. As a leader, each athlete is being observed for correct form and for getting the most out of them. However, we as coaches did the same session prior to them training. This shows that we understand what they are going through and the development that is happening. This provides a positive, safe and demanding work environment.
